What is Object Transport Management?

Transport Request and Planning
Record the transport request in the system. Determine which objects, where, when, and for what purpose will be transported. Automatic notifications are sent to relevant personnel. Plan transport dates and set alternative dates.
Check-out Condition Check
A wizard opened from the loan record guides the check-out check. Shared details are entered once, then each object is checked one by one. Photos are added from a file, by drag and drop or straight from the camera of a tablet or phone. The check-out check can be made mandatory.
Packaging and Protection
Packaging materials suitable for the object's characteristics are determined. Protective materials such as crates, foam, bubble wrap, acid-free paper are recorded. The packaging process is photographed step by step. Measurements and specifications for special transport crates are documented.
Insurance and Legal Procedures
Object valuation is performed, insurance policy is issued. Loan agreement is prepared, facility report is checked. Legal documents such as permits, customs documents, CITES certificates are uploaded to the system.
Transport and Location Records
The transport route, estimated duration and responsible persons are recorded. When the objects leave and arrive, each move is logged with its reason, the new location, the user and the time.
Return Check
When the objects come back, the return check shows the check-out photos for reference and flags every object whose condition has worsened. The loan form (PDF) includes the check results, with the check-out and return photos printed side by side.

International Temporary Exhibition
15 objects will be loaned to an exhibition in Europe. Manage the entire process with Muselera: Prepare condition reports for each object, obtain conservator approval, evaluate facility report, prepare loan agreement, create insurance policy, record packaging details, select transport company, upload customs documents. Automatic reminder for return after 6 months.
Transport for Conservation
A damaged painting will be sent to a conservation laboratory. Take detailed photographs before transport, document damages. Record use of acid-free paper and foam for special packaging. Add laboratory contact information to the system. Track the object's location as "External Conservation" during restoration.
Internal Exhibition Rotation
Seasonal rotation will be done in the permanent exhibition hall. 20 objects from storage to hall, 20 objects from hall to storage will be moved. Create bulk transport record, set movement date for each object, assign responsible persons. Simplified process for internal transport: condition check and location update sufficient.
Scientific Analysis Transport
